As you probably know, the death of George Floyd in recent days has created a serious demonstration around the world. Many people felt angry with the bad behavior of the American police and Thabo Sefolosha was not an exception. This incident made him remind his unforgettable story with a police in the past in 2014. Appeared virally on Facebook these days, you could see a video which show a terrible scene: it was about a police who used his leg to overweight a black man’s neck until he went away. The way police used the violence was very obsessive which lead to a controversial discussions about it. No one could accept this fact and this was also a reason that many citizens of other nations don’t have good impression with United States.

All onlookers who witnessed this incident expressed their sympathies toward the death of black man. In addition to this, they recall the moment of Thabo Sefolosha – a superstar of NBA five years ago. At that time, he was known as a Swiss-South African professional basketball player for the Houston Rockets who was hitted by police because of resisting the arrests. On April 8th 2015 when another player of NBA called Chris Copeland and his friends were injured by knives after going to the pub. Thabo Sefolosha also appeared that night and he absolutely complied with the police’s signals. But unluckily, the former player of OKC Thunder was harassed by them.
Sefolosha was seriously injured in his legs which forced him to temporarily stop his all season. He was charged of avoiding police from doing their duties. After only 45 minutes, the courts declared that he was innocent and they had to compensate about 4 million USD. He admitted that it has made a great impact on his mind as well as his career for a long time.
The player of Swiss-south Africa felt very disappointed when seeing clip of George Floyd and he couldn’t read more news about him. Some bad memories in New York made him feel difficult to believe in police here. “ I thought it was the most terrible one that I have ever seen in my life and it made me recall everything in the past. Please stop doing this !”
