THE FIRST STAGE
The fast development of basketball was from 1891- 1918 because this was the period of forming a new sport. Aside from the first purpose of making the gym class more interesting at school, Basketball nowadays becomes the most popular one around the world.
From 1894, after the law was enforced, there has been a numerous contests as well as international tournaments for all people to participate in. In the third olympic in 1904, basketball was the official sport to compete. At that time, basketball was well-known from some Eastern countries such as : Japan, china, philippines,.. to Europe and South America.
THE SECOND STAGE
From 1919 to 1931, there was the appearance of “ National Basketball Association “ among many nations in the world, which marked an important milestone in the development of this sport. In 1923, The first international basketball tournament was held in France including France, Italy and Czechoslovakia.
THE THIRD STAGE
From 1932 to 1947, this was the most developing period of basketball around the world. The best memory might be the foundation of FIBA ( Federation International Basketball Amateur) on June 18th, 1932.
In 1935, International olympic committee claimed that Basketball was the new sport in Olympic competition. In 1936, this was the first time 11th Olympic included this sport, which was held in Berlin with the participation of 11 nations.
THE FOURTH STAGE
The 1965-1984 period was the strong growth in strategies as well as technique. The FIBA with more than 50 participants has established its reputation and held a variety of professional tournaments
